Coastal Seniors Update for November

Exercise Classes – Angela Gibson will lead classes every Tuesday and Thursday (Except Thanksgiving Day) at 10:00 a.m. at Padgett Park. Cost is $5 per class for CSSW members and $10 for non-members. Core Class – Angela Gibson will lead a 30 minute core class every Tuesday and Thursday (Except Thanksgiving Day) at 9:15 a.m. at Padgett Park. A yoga mat and Pilates ring are used for this class. Watercolor Painting Class – Karen Peterson will teach beginners watercolor painting on Friday November 6 and 13 and December 4 and 11 from 8:45 a.m. – noon at Padgett Park. All supplies will be provided. Cost is $20 for members and $40 for non-members. Sign up through the SignUp Genius email. Pickleball – Beginner Pickleball 101 at Walton Sports Complex Courts on November 18 and December 16 at 6:00 p.m. This beginner class will be open to Walton County residents only. (Ages 18 and up) Registration is required. Register through Parks and Rec Website at secure.rec1.com. The class is FREE and equipment will be provided or you may use your own. Open play at Boys and Girls Club every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday through December 17 (Except Nov. 11 and Nov. 24-26) from 9:30 – 12:30. Beginners welcome. Demo paddles available. Cost is $5 per day plus $35 waiver fee at initial registration. Monthly Program – Monthly Program will be a Potluck lunch on Friday November 20, from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at Padgett Park. The meat will be provided so bring your favorite side, salad, or dessert. Mahjong – Mary Swift will host a Mahjong group every Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Padgett Park. For more information contact Mary Swift at 210-722-7939 or on Facebook join The Emerald Coast Social Club-a Mahjong Group.

Dementia Caregivers Support Group – Karen League will lead this support group for caregivers to provide a safe place to share experiences, provide practical information and mutual support. The meetings are the first Friday of each month from 12:30 – 2 p.m. at the Coastal Branch Library meeting room located at 437 Greenway Trail. Northwest Florida Health Council – Will provide free health screenings every other month beginning December 17th from 9 – 11:30 at Padgett Park. Screenings could identify possible health issues, answer questions, and aid with connections to specialized care.

Line Dance Classes will be back in January 2027 – Montana Sue will return to teach beginners line dances on Wednesdays at Padgett Park beginning January 6. Look for more information in December on our website. Contact us at coastalseniorsofsouthwalton@gmail.com.

Membership is $30 for individuals, $50 for family, and $100 for businesses (your business will be listed on our home webpage and our Facebook page).
