Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport  Partners With The Cultural Arts Alliance Of Walton  County And Bay Arts Alliance On Art Display Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary

Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) has partnered with the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County and the Bay Arts  Alliance on an art display celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary and Florida’s unique role in our Nation’s history, culture, and future.

Inspired by the Florida Department of Transportation’s America 250 Florida Campaign, this exhibit will showcase original artwork reflecting the spirit of the Free State of Florida and commemorating the Semiquincentennial of the United States.

The 250th Anniversary of the United States marks a historic opportunity to celebrate the  Nation’s founding while recognizing Florida’s profound influence on America’s past, present, and future. This Exhibit will showcase themes of freedom, heritage, innovation, community, natural beauty, and the unique identity of Florida through the eyes and creative works of local artists.

Airport Executive Director Parker McClellan stated, “We wanted to do something locally to complement the Florida Department of Transportation’s America 250 Florida campaign. Partnering with the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County and the Bay  County Arts Alliance, the display highlights Florida’s unique attributes and contributions  to America’s 250th anniversary from the creative lens of our local arts community.”

Jennifer Steele, President and CEO of the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County, commented, “We are excited to partner with the Airport and the Bay Arts Alliance to  facilitate an artistic display, from local artists, depicting the uniqueness of Florida  through the years while supporting this important milestone for our country.”

Jayson Kretzer, Director of the Bay Arts Alliance, added, “This is a great opportunity to  partner on behalf of local artists and have their work on display for both residents and  visitors traveling through our region from around the country this summer.”

The America 250: Celebrating Florida exhibit will be on display from July 1t through  August 28 and is located post-security in the Art Escape area, on the second floor of the terminal near gates 8 and 9.
