Honoring Walton County resident Timothy Padgett, a Special Forces medical sergeant who died in Afghanistan in 2007, Padgett Park is a spot for reflection and respite. The park is home to playground equipment and a colorful community center, located right around the corner from South Walton High School and the Coastal Branch Library.

Whether you’re looking for a pit stop to unwind after school or a space to kick around the soccer ball, Padgett Park has you covered. Soccer nets on the multi-purpose field give way to a friendly game. The space can also be used for other sports, just bring your own ball.

The handicap accessible playground features a rubber ground and like-new equipment such as a rock climbing wall, slides and even plastic bongos. The park also includes a swing set and splash pad, which operates during warmer months.

The multi-purpose community center is open to Walton County residents and is a great space for gatherings. It features restrooms, a table and chairs and a kitchenette. Reserve the center by calling the Walton County Commissioners office 850-231-2978. Open Dawn till dusk. 810 J.D. Miller Road, Santa Rosa Beach. The cost of facility rental is $75.  You will receive a $25 credit to the BookAField account for your next facility rental if the facility is left in clean condition and a request is made to lansheila@co.walton.fl.us.

Contact the office the week of your reservation for the building code, as it is changed weekly. This code will allow entrance to the facility as well as locking the facility before leaving.
