“Where Every Day is a Celebration” is the theme of the sixth annual Green Thumb Garden Club Holiday Bazaar that showcases unique seasonal décor and other items handmade by members and other local artists.  Special thanks to Cantina Laredo for again allowing the Club to have the event at their Grand Boulevard location on November 14, 2026.  Doors open at 9 a.m. Come early for the best selection!  The bazaar is always a sellout.

Bazaar net proceeds will fund 2027 scholarships awarded to Walton County horticulture college students as well as youths and young adults in Timpoochee 4H Camp, E.O. Wilson Biophilia Naturalists Outdoor Program and Westonwood Ranch programs.

In October, Green Thumb members donated over $1,100 in food, gift cards and cash to Caring & Sharing of South Walton to support those in need in our community.  Walton County Sheriff’s Santa Patrol will receive gifts and gift cards for young children and teenagers at the GTGC holiday luncheon on December 8, 2026, at Royal Palm Grille on Scenic Gulf Drive, Miramar Beach, FL.

Also at the October meeting, Member Vicki Dickerson’s Island Green home received the October Yard of Distinction Award.  GTGC Vice President, Barbara Gahagan, presented tips and ideas to extend the life of those special holiday plants.

The Club has chosen a well-deserving Walton County family as their 2026 Habitat family.  The family will receive monetary donations and gifts to help ensure a great holiday season.  The donations will be delivered to the family in mid-December.
