It’s Smoothie Season!
The return of spring is just as delightful to my spirit as the return of the smoothie! I am highlighting a hormone balancing smoothie recipe for women. My relentless pursuit of nutritional healing allows me to have a multitude of options at the ready. This recipe yielded amazing results when I was feeling low from the onset of perimenopause. It may seem anecdotal but it literally reduced hot flashes and bloat to a minimum, stopped my hairloss and improved my skin!
Grocery List
- Beet (Use the green part as well) 1/2 small
- Seedless Grapes (Freeze in a baggie) 10 grapes
- Broccoli Florets 2 small florets
- Raspberries (Freeze in a Baggie) 10
- Acai or Goji Berry ½ cup
- Avocado ½ small
- Olive Oil or Flaxseed Oil 1 tsp
- Ice & Water as needed
Beets can increase oxygen uptake in your red blood cells by about 400%, among a plethora of other benefits. The magnesium contained in all these ingredients aids in replenishing this vital mineral for women during menstruation.
Other ingredients to gather up for smoothies during this time would be Cashews, Almonds, Almond Milk, Swiss Chard, Spinach, Banana, Pumpkin Seeds, Sesame Seeds and Blueberries.
Another way to get the benefits from the foods is to make power bowls of these ingredients and drizzle honey over them! YUM! & it satisfies your CRUNCH cravings! I will be sharing more of these delicious recipes using these ingredients in the future.
