Calhoun County Newspaper AdRegina Piazza’s journey started with humility and courage, as an independent teen who Joined the Air Force and served as a plumber and heavy equipment operator in an all-male unit. After serving with distinction, and an unashamed devotion to her Nation, Regina entered the tourism/hospitality industry, which equipped her for what God had next as a two-time business owner who developed and implemented recognition strategies for Fortune 500 companies. She then served as an executive assistant and connections director at a large church with an associated school. It was there that Regina saw the importance of raising our children with classical, Judeo-Christian values which compelled her to explore homeschooling. She began homeschooling her children and then assumed leadership roles in the world’s largest classical homeschool organization, Classical Conversations. In 2021, her efforts led her into an area of responsibility having the organization’s largest growth in the United States–right here in our Senate District. “It was, as my children call it, my lion’s heart for school choice in our communities and advocacy for the freedom to work, worship and educate consistent with the unalienable rights of our Constitution that God used to equip me for running as your District 2 State Senator,” she said.

Regina is married to Colonel Thomas Piazza, M.D., USAF, retired, who is a local Medical Director caring for active duty Service Members with Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress and chronic pain. She and Tom live in Destin, Florida with their three children and their dog, Emmy-Lou.

Why Green, Regina?
Part of Regina’s campaign includes “Going Green,” which can confuse a mostly conservative electorate. “When I accepted this ‘mission,’ God provided the details, and part of His plan was going green! People ask me all the time: what?! But aren’t you supposed to be red, Regina- you are a Republican, right? Yes, I am a Republican, but my political affiliation isn’t where I get my identity- that comes from my Heavenly Father. When we come into relationship with Christ, it’s as if we have been made pure- white as snow- because His blood was the exchange rate for our sin. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us ‘Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.’ Green represents new growth. New life. A tangible expression of this can be seen when the Winter season draws its last breath as the lushness of Spring blooms. You see, in the Winter months, nature becomes dormant, like we do when we live a life apart from Christ. It’s only when there is a transition from the old to the new, that fresh life begins!

As an ambassador for Christ, as your Senator, it is my responsibility to represent ALL individuals within my District, regardless of beliefs and party affiliation. It is time to launch something new in District 2 and be the change together!”

The State Senate District 2 election is Tuesday, August 23rd.
