Put on your Blue Suede Shoes and shimmy over to Alaqua Animal Refuge on Friday, December 1st for Blue Christmas: A Night with Ron Adams. We’ll dance the night away as Ron performs Elvis’ greatest hits as The King of Rock and Roll. You won’t want to miss this Las Vegas style performance benefitting the Alaqua Animal Refuge.
Ron, who now resides in Destin, grew up singing in his Tabernacle Christian Church in Jefferson County, Alabama. He found his calling as a performer decades ago while working as an undercover detective in a night club in Birmingham. Ron first got on stage at an Elvis tribute show when the original performer quit on the spot due to Ron’s picking on him. The owner let Ron take the stage, and that was the beginning of his successful entertainment career. It was a couple of years before Ron left the police force as a decorated officer, but since then he has been performing all over the southeast and the Cayman Islands. While Ron’s famous for his Elvis tribute show, he also performs shows as Johnny Cash and performs in a Rat Pack show as Dean Martin. He still tours and sells out shows everywhere he goes.
Blue Christmas is bound to knock your socks off, and it’s for a great cause supporting a wonderful organization that is integral to our community. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Alaqua Animal Refuge. If you are unfamiliar with them, they are a 501(c)3 in Freeport, Florida located off route 20 just east of 331. Their 100-acre no-kill sanctuary provides safety and shelter for over 500 animals at any given time and they complete over 100 adoptions each month. They’ve been able to find homes for tens of thousands of animals since 2007. They also provide programs for senior citizens and children with special needs. They operate purely on funds that are raised through donations and fundraising events like this.
