By Dr. Joshua Bledsoe, Public Information Officer, WCSD

Walton County School District’s Flight 250 is underway, and throughout October, our students, employees, families, and community partners continue to elevate EPIC—Excellence, Professionalism, Innovation, and Collaboration—To Heights Unseen.

Homecoming season is underway and September saw two of our high schools win the night! Congratulations to Walton High School on its 36–3 victory over Freeport High School and to South Walton High School on its 28–20 win against Pine Forest High School. We are proud of the student-athletes, coaches, bands, cheerleaders, school employees, families, and fans whose dedication and school spirit made each celebration memorable.

Next on our October Homecoming Flight Plan is Freeport High on October 23. Best of luck to the Bulldogs as they take the field against Destin High School!

Wcsd Sowal October

National School Principals’ Month: October provides the opportunity to recognize the outstanding leaders who guide our schools with professionalism, vision, and an unwavering commitment to student success.

National Bullying Prevention Month: Reminds us that reaching new heights requires a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

National School Lunch Week, WCSD celebrates October 5-9, and October 19-23. We thank our school nutrition professionals for fueling our students with nutritious meals and caring service.

National School Bus Safety Week: October 19–23, allows us to recognize our transportation employees and reminds drivers, families, and students to make safety a shared responsibility.

Red Ribbon Week: October 23–31, empowers students to make healthy, drug-free choices. Through education, encouragement, and positive decision-making, we help students remain focused on bright futures.

As Flight 250 continues, we are grateful for everyone helping Walton County’s students climb higher. By working together and living our EPIC values, there is no limit to the heights we can reach.
