Bungalow Home and Life Features Interior Designs by Carolyn Simmons
By Dee Cruce
Local vendor mall, Bungalow Home and Life, and owner Jacque Wright, proudly present local interior designer and visual artist Carolyn Simmons.
From a young age, Carolyn Simmons, the founder and lead designer behind 30A Interiors, started out with an eye for color and design. Her talents were first molded while growing up in Texas with her creative family. They poured their love and knowledge of art and culture on her as a child, resulting in a love for color and design. From there, she began to express herself through fashion design, specifically with one of a kind outfits for Barbie.
It wasn’t until one summer working at her aunt’s retail shop that she found the inspiration that eventually led her to her own Interior Design business. “There, I learned to truly love beautiful things.” I fell in love with putting beautiful things together.”
Simmons attended Southeastern Louisiana University and pursued a degree in fashion merchandising. Shortly thereafter, she married a military man and traveled the world with him. Throughout her adventures abroad, she found herself drawn to opportunities that would echo the memories of her happy childhood and the past. As a girl, Simmons would often visit her grandfather’s workshop. He built custom furniture, and she watched as he crafted custom pieces for his shop. “That’s what inspired me. “Seeing furniture beautifully crafted and knowing the value of quality pieces provided me the skills and knowledge to pursue Interior Design.”
30A Interiors opened when she moved to the area, nearly a decade ago, after 30 years of perfecting her fashion merchandising, commercial interiors, and interior design craft. She specializes in new construction, total refurbishment of homes and offices, and has extensive experience with large projects including a well-known, but not to be mentioned, group of Homeland Security offices across the US. Simmons and her team, which includes a general contractor, offer a variety of services from planning and executing a full renovation to assisting you in decorating your home. She uses her keen eye and attention to detail to make sure your expectations are exceeded, and people are defiantly taking note.
She’s been named a Maria Killam ‘True Colour Expert’, a Best of Houzz Designer, the 2018 Finest of the Emerald Coast and one of the top 25 designers in Florida. Come get a taste for her style first-hand by visiting her collection of home furnishings and décor at Bungalow Home and Life in the Santa Rosa Beach Post Office Plaza, located at 3906 US Hyw 98 W. or visit her webpage at www.30ainteriors.com.
