Teachers will begin a new year on August 3, 2023, with the annual EPIC district-wide event hosted at Freeport High School. This event is a grand affair of professional development, ranking updates, and the Superintendent’s address. Our teachers will enjoy seeing colleagues they have not seen over the summer while attending break-out sessions where they will hear from speakers who provide best practices within their content and grade areas. The day focuses on unifying the district toward the goal of being a number one school district.
Our leadership team attended a professional development training in Tallahassee, Florida, July 17-20, 2023, at the Dunlap Champion’s Club on the FSU campus. The Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (PAEC) hosted this week of training, celebrating 56 years of support for our local Panhandle school districts. PAEC brings leaders together to provide legislative updates, Florida Department of Education initiatives, and academic support.
On July 24, 2023, Walton County School District administrators, school improvement teams, teachers, students, community partners, and parents participated in Manufacturing Day. This annual event is geared toward cementing the upcoming year’s strategies and initiatives that will help catapult Walton County School District into becoming the number one school district in the state! School teams review data and examine current practices using resources from every functioning department in the district. The room buzzed with excitement and expectation about the upcoming school year!
