The E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center invites the public to experience the wonders of Florida’s nighttime wildlife during its upcoming Night Hike, scheduled for Saturday, March 7 from 5-8 p.m. This unique evening program offers visitors an immersive outdoor adventure designed to educate and inspire participants of all ages while fostering a deeper connection to the natural world.
The guided hike will lead participants along scenic trails to the Center’s bat house, where guests will have the opportunity to observe native Florida bats as they emerge at dusk for their nightly hunt of insects. Along the route, attendees can explore a variety of educational activity stations that highlight nocturnal adaptations, local wildlife, and conservation efforts.
In addition to the hike, food vendors will be on site offering a selection of food available for purchase, allowing guests to enjoy refreshments throughout the evening. Admission to the Night Hike is $15 per adult and $10 for children ages 4–12, with VIP access available to E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center members.
Guests may also enhance their experience by participating in the Fireside Owl Experience, available as an add-on for $5 per person. This special feature includes a close encounter with a native ambassador owl, marshmallow roasting over an open fire, hot cocoa and coffee, and a kid friendly craft activity, making it a memorable addition for families and wildlife enthusiasts alike.
Participants are encouraged to bring flashlights and dress appropriately for an evening outdoors. The Night Hike offers a rare opportunity to discover some of Florida’s fascinating nocturnal creatures while enjoying an engaging and educational community event.
