Join Hope on the Beach Church Saturday, June 12th, 10:00-11:30 am at the 98 Church Campus for the quarterly Women of Hope Mugs & Muffins gathering of fellowship, sharing, and outreach. Guest speakers for this event will be Rachel Harris with Operation Underground Railroad and Alicia Tappan with The Secret Place. Operation Underground Railroad is a nonprofit organization that rescues children from sex trafficking and assists in their recovery and care. The Secret Place’s mission is to provide a safe space for female children & young adult survivors of commercial sexual exploitation in Northwest Florida. This Christian-based center offers independent living, life skills, health & wellness, therapeutic services and mentorship. Come learn more about these organizations and how you can pray for and help them. The Secret Place is trying to provide the girls with some gardening sets as part of their creative trauma therapy. Donations for this “Trauma-Informed Creativity Drive” will be accepted the entire month of June and includes the following items: potting soil, hand rake, gloves, trowels, $15-$20 Lowes or Home Depot Gift Cards for the girls to choose their own plants, gardening aprons, pots, pruning shears, etc. We will also be collecting Bibles and Prayer Journals for these teenage and young adult girls. Donations can be brought to the event or dropped off in the office. What a great opportunity to bless girls that have faced a terrible tragedy.
