The Seaside SchoolTom Glavine’s Field of Dreams Golf Outing Raises $200,000 to Advance Educational Innovation and Workforce Development in Walton County

The greens of Camp Creek Golf Course in Inlet Beach were alive with friendly competition, community spirit, and purpose as golfers teed off for a cause that’s transforming the future of education in Walton County. The 5th Annual Tom Glavine’s Field of Dreams Golf Outing, held on Monday, October 13, 2025, raised an outstanding $200,000 in support of the Seacoast Collegiate High School and Northwest Florida State College South Walton Center.

Hosted by MLB Hall of Famer Tom Glavine and joined by special guest Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the event brought together business leaders, sponsors, and supporters for a world-class day on one of Northwest Florida’s most scenic and challenging courses. But beyond the scorecards and trophies, every swing carried greater meaning, fueling expanded educational access and workforce opportunities for local students and adult learners.

“I’ve always believed sports have the power to bring people together for something bigger,” said Tom Glavine. “This event does exactly that. The support raised here today directly helps young people in our community gain the skills, education, and confidence they need to build successful futures right here at home.”

Tournament champions were:

  • First Place, Gross Results: Jamey Price, JR Holden, John Davenport, & Jeff Roland
  • First Place, Net Results: McKenzie Burleigh, Kristy Holditch, Arlease Ciatto, & Kevin Rosa

Contest winners include:

  • Longest Drive: Women – Miranda Corchis / Men – Peyton Glavine
  • Closest to the Pin: Women – Courtney Fields / Men – David Kapitanoff
  • 50/50 Raffle: McKenzie Burleigh

Proceeds from the tournament directly benefit the South Walton Center, a multi-million-dollar, multi-phase collaboration between Seacoast Collegiate High School and Northwest Florida State College. The project represents a first-of-its-kind partnership in South Walton, establishing a fully functioning satellite campus of NWFSC that offers dual enrollment, college degree programs, and workforce development opportunities designed to meet the growing needs of the local economy.

The initiative reached a major milestone this fall with the opening of both the new Seacoast Collegiate High School building and the Northwest Florida State College building, which together welcomed students into a cutting-edge learning environment designed to connect classroom instruction to real-world application. The future Community Building, now in development, will expand those opportunities even further, serving as a hub for training programs, continuing education, and partnerships between local industries and education providers.

“This project is a defining step forward for Seacoast Collegiate High School and for Walton County as a whole,” said Dr. Tom Miller, Executive Director of SEASIDE SCHOOL™. “By uniting high school and college education on one campus, we’re giving students a direct pathway from learning to career readiness. It’s a model that not only transforms education but strengthens the workforce, supports local families, and elevates our entire community.”

Callie Cox, Director of Advancement and Donor Relations for the SEASIDE SCHOOL FOUNDATION™, added, “The success of this year’s Field of Dreams Golf Outing demonstrates just how much our community believes in investing in the future. The funds raised will expand access to advanced coursework, technology, and professional development, ensuring that every student, no matter their background, has the opportunity to succeed.”
