The Walton County School District’s graduation rate is at an all-time high of 96.7% – a five percent increase over the 2020-2021 school year.

The Florida Department of Education recently published graduation data for the 2021-2022 school year showing the Walton County School District with a graduation rate increase of 5% in a single year. This increase means Walton County has the third-highest number of students walking across the stage to receive their diplomas – 10% above the state average.

Under the leadership of Superintendent A. Russell Hughes, the Walton County School District has seen an unprecedented increase in the number of students graduating high school. Since Hughes took office in 2016, the District has experienced a 20% increase in students successfully completing the requirements to graduate high school and receive their diplomas.

Superintendent A. Russell Hughes remarked “I am very proud of the accomplishments of our students, faculty, staff, school board, and all stakeholders of the Walton County School District. At the end of these incredible statistics, we are really talking about children – children who have options after graduation and children who will become the building blocks of our thriving communities. We have a dedicated team of innovative professionals serving and preparing the whole child for a life of success. Congratulations to all those involved in this wonderful accomplishment.”

The graduation rate increase illustrates the results of the Walton County School District’s commitment to Excellence, Professionalism, Innovation, and Collaboration – “The Walton County Way.”
