“We have our ice and space layout down to a science, which is in part why we are going to be able to extend our season this year. And yes, it’s real ice,” said Brendan Doolan, ice rink manager at Baytowne Wharf.  “We now have great options for our locals and visitors alike – whether they are renting it for a birthday party, utilizing a seasonal pass, or just a one-time skater. Over the years, I’ve gotten to know several local faces that come again and again to support our ice rink. They are already asking about season passes.”

Season passes can be purchased at the Baytowne Wharf Neighborhood Association Office during business hours. Passes are now $165 for the extended season.  Or, guests can skate for an hour and a half, with ice skate rentals included, for $14.

“In a 2007 merchant meeting, we were brainstorming ways to increase traffic in the winter months, and researched an opportunity to purchase an existing rink and supplies. Just like that, Baytowne on Ice was born,” commented Alan Meyers, executive director of Baytowne Wharf. “The rink gives our Village a unique holiday treat – something guests probably never thought possible, given our proximity to the beaches of South Walton.  We have guests from drive-time markets and even people that are making a weekend trip just to come to Baytowne to ice skate.  And now in our 10th season, we have options to fit the needs of our homeowners and visitors.”
