Volunteers needed to Serve on Walton County Boards
Walton County is currently accepting applications for vacancies on the following Boards and Committee: Design Review Board, Library Advisory Board Districts 1 and 4, Affordable Housing Committee, Code Enforcement Board (General Contractor), Public Safety Coordinating Council (consumer of Mental Health Services-Family member).
It’s easy to volunteer. All you need to do is complete a Walton County Volunteer Application, provide a brief background of your experience and indicate which Board, Commission, Council or Committee on which you would be willing to serve. Public participation in government is at the heart of democracy. A great way to become part of your local government is through volunteering to serve on one of the County’s many advisory Boards, Commissions, Councils or Committees. These volunteer opportunities allow all citizens to become engaged with local government and provide advice and recommendations from a citizen perspective to the Board of County Commissioners.
Walton County citizens can volunteer to serve on any of the County Boards, Commissions, Councils or Committees listed below:
- Affordable Housing Committee
- Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Committee
- Code Enforcement Board*
- Contractors’ Competency Board
- Design Review Board*
- Library Advisory Board
- Planning Commission*
- Public Safety Coordinating Council
- RESTORE Committee
- Zoning Board of Adjustments*

Applications can be found on the County website or potential volunteers can contact County Administration at 850-892-8155 to have an application faxed or emailed.
Free Financial Seminar Coming to the Vue on 30A
Santa Rosa Beach resident and financial advisor Maurice Stouse will be conducting a free seminar on Wednesday, March 29th at 11:30 am at The Vue on 30A, 4801 W. County Hwy. 30A, Santa Rosa Beach. The seminar is titled: A fresh and streamlined approach to investing for your financial Future.

Walton United Broadband Initiative Announces Meeting
Please be advised that the Walton United Broadband Initiative will hold a Meeting on Thursday, March 15, 2017 beginning at 12:00 PM at the Walton County Administration Building located at 76 North 6th Street, DeFuniak Springs, FL. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the continued expansion of broadband services in Walton County. Two or more Commissioners may attend this meeting. Please be governed accordingly.
