Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast was awarded an ‘A’ from The Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2018 Hospital Safety Grade. The designation recognizes Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast’s efforts in protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the United States. “Protecting patients from harm is our most important responsibility,” said Roger Hall, president of Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. “We are honored to be recognized as one of the nation’s safest healthcare facilities and will continue in our commitment to improving the safety and care of our patients.” Sacred Heart is part of Ascension, the nation’s largest nonprofit health system. Developed under the guidance of a National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. The Hospital Safety Grade’s methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, and the results are free to the public.
Earlier this year Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast also received the highest Overall Top Performer Award for its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) services and a 5-Star Award in the category of Emergency Department Services Overall Quality of Care from Professional Research Consultants, Inc.
