Green Thumb Garden Club is very grateful to its members and the community for their donations and support of the second annual Holiday Bazaar.

The “Where Every Day is a Celebration” theme of the November event showcased unique seasonal décor and other items which were purchased by members, residents, and visitors.  Special thanks to Cantina Laredo for allowing the Club to host the event at their Grand Boulevard location and for their on-going support of our mission.

The Bazaar net proceeds will fund the 2023 Mercer Scholarship which is awarded to a deserving Walton County horticulture college student every year as well as youths participating in Timpoochee 4H Youth Camp and E.O. Wilson Biophilia Naturalists Outdoor Program.

Caring & Sharing of South Walton received monetary and food donations in November prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.  Walton County Sheriff’s Santa Patrol will receive gifts for young children and gift cards for teenagers before the Christmas holiday.

The Club chose a well-deserving single mom, son, and grandson as their 2022 Habitat for Humanity family.  The family will receive a monetary donation and gifts to help ensure a great holiday season for everyone.  GTGC will also donate to Habitat’s general fund to support their mission to improve the lives of less fortunate families in Walton County.

On January 18, 2023, members will be at Northwest Florida State College for a presentation by the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance about their mission to protect the local waterways and fragile ecosystems.  The event cost is $25. per person and lunch will be prepared by the College’s culinary management students.  Check-in begins at 9:30 am and the meeting starts at 10:00 am.
