Several local groups joined together on February 17 for a Black History celebration that ended with a parade. It rained, but the Walton County Women’s Democratic Club showed up, bundled up with smiles on their faces as they braved the wet conditions and helped the Black citizens of Walton County celebrate. Despite the rain, there were over 50 cars in the line-up. The spirit of joy overrode the dampness. In addition to the WCDWC other sponsors included The NAACP of Northwest Florida, the Walton County Democratic Black Caucus, The Tivoli Historical Society, and the Ladies of Distinction.
