Long-time Beach Operations employee and valued community member Jimmy Frank was memorialized with the naming of the entry road to the Beach Operations facility in his honor on Friday, Jan. 26 at 924 S. County Rd. 83 in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.
Frank, 58, of Blue Mountain Beach died unexpectedly last November. The Walton County Board of County Commissioners approved naming the entrance in recognition of his more than 20-year career with Beach Operations doing beach maintenance.
“Jimmy was what I considered a ‘quiet leader.’ He worked hard, did the job asked of him with little or no complaints, could always be counted on for extra work detail when needed and was a great representative of Walton County and the Beach Operations Department. Often times I would put new employees with Jimmy so he could show them the Beach Operations ‘Way.’ Jimmy was an all-around great person; husband, father, son, brother, and most certainly – fellow employee,” Director of Beach Operations Brian Kellenberger said.
Originally from Illinois, Frank lived and worked beach life since moving to the area with his wife, Cindy, in 1994. According to his obituary, he was a friend to generations of neighbors and visitors alike and was an anchor of the Blue Mountain Beach neighborhood. A Jimmy Buffett fan, Frank’s proudest accomplishments were his children.
