In November of 2015, ESC saw the need to have a physical presence to serve clients in Walton, Okaloosa, and Bay counties. The firm made the move to expand its footprint with the addition of the Miramar Beach location in the Grand Boulevard professional complex, 195 Grand Boulevard, Suite 101. This location includes a practice of attorneys, paralegals, and staff serving in the areas of law ranging from business, tax, real estate, community associations, construction, and employment law, to contract and commercial litigation, estate planning, trust, and probate, and more.
The Managing partner of the Miramar Beach location is Attorney Scot B. Copeland. Scot is board-certified by The Florida Bar in Real Estate Law and his practice includes real estate and business law. He has represented numerous individuals, lenders, business entities, and insurance companies in a broad range of litigation and transactional matters. Scot is “AV Preeminent” rated by his peers through Martindale-Hubbell®.
Additionally, Attorney Van P. Geeker, who holds a Master of Tax Law (LL.M), practices primarily in the areas of taxation, trusts, estates, and corporate law. He represents clients regularly in IRS tax controversies and works in the areas of tax-exempt organizations and employee benefits, including deferred and compensation planning. Van is “AV Preeminent” rated by his peers through Martindale-Hubbell®.
Serving and supporting the SOWAL community is ingrained in the fiber of the firm, and is shown through various volunteer efforts, community and chamber sponsorships, professional organizations, and particularly, Copeland serves as a board member of Early Learning Coalition of the Emerald Coast, whose mission is to support the success of every child and their family through quality early education and care. Geeker is a long-standing board member of the Destin Wine Charity Auction which supports numerous charitable organizations in Northwest Florida and has raised more than $25 million to impact 100,000 local youth.
Today, the firm is comprised of 28 attorneys and more than 50 supporting staff members who proudly serve clients from offices in Pensacola, Pace, Miramar Beach, and Tallahassee, Florida.
